Man carrying a Google camera, capturing new 360o scenes of SAARA market and Camelódromo area to be added to Google Street View.
Google is almost omnipresent and it is amazing to note that most of the population in Rio, even those with bare access to the Internet are aware of the brand.
Mapping of Rio streets is an effort that has been on-going for years now and requires constant update due to the dynamism, dramatic changes all over the city.
In Rio de Janeiro, Google went beyond with a remarkable art Project named ‘Beyond the Map’, getting the favelas and the communities within mapped and recognized.
Beyond the Map is really worth a check as it complements our Day2day Rio Photography Project with more stories, videos, 3D scenes, arts… Check it out, but don’t forget to come back to day2dayRio for more! https://beyondthemap.withgoogle.com/en-us/
